MI Gas Prices Hit New 2024 High: AAA

MICHIGAN — Weekend gas prices across Michigan hit a new yearly high, according to AAA.

Michigan drivers paid $3.69 Monday morning for a regular gallon of gas, one cent cheaper than Sunday's new yearly high of $3.70, according to AAA.

Michigan's new average is also 15 cents higher than last week and 19 cents higher than a month ago, according to AAA.

Motorists on Monday paid an average of $55 for a full 15-gallon tank of gasoline, according to AAA.

"Michigan motorists are seeing higher pump prices, with the state average setting a new 2024-high," AAA Spokesperson Adrienne Woodland said in a news release. "If crude oil prices continue to rise, alongside tight supply, then gas prices will likely follow suit."

Regular gas prices in the metro Detroit area were $3.65 per gallon, roughly nine cents more than last week’s average and a single cent less than the same time in 2023, according to AAA.

The most expensive places in Michigan to get gas were in Marquette ($3.83), Jackson ($3.76) and Lansing ($3.75).

The cheapest places to get gas in Michigan were in Traverse City ($3.61), Metro Detroit ($3.65) and Grand Rapids ($3.71).
