MI Ice Cream Chain Named Nation's Best: Ranking

A new ranking has named a popular Michigan ice cream chain as the nation's best.

Petoskey-based Kilwins earned the top spot in Newsweek Readers' Choice Awards.

The popular ice cream topped multiple nationally known chains, including Cold Stone, Ben & Jerry's and Graeter's.

Kilwins is best known for its handcrafted ice cream, which is typically served alongside its famous chocolates, fudge and caramel apples.

It was founded in Petoskey in 1947 and has built its reputation on premium ingredients, time-honored recipes and traditional confectionery craftsmanship.

Kilwins has nearly 200 locations across the nation, including several spots in the metro Detroit area.
