MI Ice Cream Shop Named Among Best Creameries In U.S.: Report
A Michigan ice cream shop was ranked among the 40 best creameries in the nation. Here's what sets it apart.
TRAVERSE CITY, MI — Michiganders looking for some sweet relief from the summer heat may want to try out this northern Michigan ice cream shop, which was ranked among the best creameries in the nation, according to a new report.
Traverse City's Moomers was recognized by Thrillist as one of the 40 best ice cream shops in the U.S. in an era where ice cream has been renewed as an artistry as new wave creameries crop up around the country.
The little ice cream shop, located five miles from downtown Traverse City, offers over 160 handmade ice creams ranging from the traditional ice cream cone to the "Wholey Cow," which features ten scoops bunched together with every single topping.

The creamery also features ice cream wedding cakes, milkshakes, old-fashioned Root Beer floats and Sundaes. Over all, they have an 160 different ice cream flavors with 20 available daily, and can make any flavor with a special order.
"Seldom do you get to eat something delicious while looking out the window at the animals that provided the ingredients, largely because there’s no quicker way to ruin a burger," Thrillist says. "But this little country creamery in gorgeous upper Michigan lets you gaze upon cows while getting down on your choice of 160 amazing handmade ice creams."
