MI Man, 32, Wins $1M On Scratch 0ff Ticket: MI Lottery

MARLETTE, MI — A Sanilac County man decided to buy multiple scratch off lottery tickets on a whim and became a millionaire, according to Michigan Lottery officials.
The lucky 32-year-old player, who chose to remain anonymous, bought his winning $1 million Diamond Wild Time ticket at Scott’s Quik Stop, located at 5 North Van Dyke Road in Marlette, which is roughly 50 miles east of Saginaw, according to lottery officials.
"When I stopped at the store, I bought five lottery tickets on a whim," the lucky player told lottery officials. "I started scratching them off when I got in my car, and when I saw the star symbol with ‘1MIL’ underneath on my Diamond Wild Time ticket, I didn’t believe it."

"It wasn’t until my girlfriend scanned it on the Lottery app and $1 million came up on the screen that it finally hit me that I really won! It is an unbelievable feeling," the lucky player added.
He chose to receive his prize as a one-time lump sum payment of about $634,000 rather than annuity payments for the full amount, according to lottery officials.
