MI Teen Missing For Nearly 2 Months Found Safe In FL After Appearing On Livestream: Police

A missing 17-year-old Michigan boy was found safe in Miami after appearing on a livestream for social media content creators Clix and Lacy.

FLINT, MI — A missing Michigan teen, who suffers from schizophrenia, was found in Miami this week after his brother recognized him on a popular social media stream, according to police.

Troy Coleman, 17, from Flint, was reported missing on May 21 after he was last seen leaving his home, possibly before boarding an MTA bus, according to police.

His family became concerned about his safety after not hearing from him, according to police.

For weeks, the teen's disappearance went on with no breakthrough until Coleman's brother recognized Troy on the Clix and Lacy livestream, according to nonprofit A Voice for the Voiceless, which distributes information about missing persons cases.

The brother then reached out on social media and said Coleman was seen in the video wearing green shorts, according to Lacy's post.

The organization then told Coleman's brother that Troy was staying at a hotel in Miami, according to Lacy's post.

Lacy's post also said that Coleman was placed in a Miami holding cell while he waits to be transferred back to Michigan.

"(Three) months ago a 17-year-old kid went missing and was put on homicide. Yesterday on stream he came up to me and Clix and now his family knows he is alive and in Miami," Lacy wrote. "The internet is wild."

Investigators then tracked Coleman to Miami and are working with local police in the area to safely bring him back to Michigan to be with his family, according to police.
