MI Woman Wins $500K Prize Same Day Tarot Card said 'Money Was Coming'

GENESEE COUNTY, MI — A Genesee County woman won a $500,000 prize on a scratch-off ticket the same day a Tarot card told her "money would be coming into her life very soon," according to Michigan Lottery officials.

The lucky 59-year-old player, who chose to remain anonymous, bought the winning Wild Time ticket at the BP gas station, located at 3238 West Thompson Road in Fenton, according to Michigan Lottery officials.

The woman told lottery officials she stopped at the store and picked up some scratch-off tickets on her way to a Tarot reading.

"During my Tarot reading, I was told money would be coming into my life very soon," she told lottery officials. "I tried to think of ways this might happen, but I didn’t even think about the lottery tickets in my purse."

Later that night, the woman told lottery officials she scratched the tickets.

"I saw the star symbol and thought, ‘Well, at least I won my money back,’ assuming it would be a $10 win. Much to my surprise, I revealed a prize of $500,000. I tried to remain calm, but I knew right then and there this had just changed my life," she told lottery officials.

With her winnings, she told lottery officials she plans to pay off her car, take a cruise with a friend and then invest the rest of the money.
