Michigan Drivers Can Buy Digital License Plates
Michiganders can either choose a battery powered or hard-wired RPlate, which can be used in the United States, Mexico and Canada.
MICHIGAN — Michigan drivers can now buy digital license plates for their vehicles, according to a news release from Reviver-the developer of the digital license plate.
The company said Michigan is just the third state in the country (California and Arizona) to offer drivers the RPlate, which are legal for Michiganders to drive with in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Michiganders can either choose the battery powered plate for $957.60 after 48 monthly payments or a hard-wired model for $1,197.60 after 48 monthly payments. Drivers could also choose to buy the plate yearly and save $96 off the total price.

The company also said the RPlate connects drivers online through its app, which allows online registration renewal. The app also alerts drivers if their vehicle moves so they report it stolen through the app.
"Drivers deserve a modern licensing solution that works for the way we live today. We are beyond excited to make digital license plates available to all drivers in Michigan," Reviver co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer Neville Boston said in a press release. "I want to thank the state legislators and government representatives, as well as the many other transportation officials and partners throughout the state for working with us to help make this a reality – we are thrilled to reach this milestone."
