Michigan Gas Prices Drop 11 Cents, Average Fall's Below $5: AAA

Gas prices in the metro Detroit, specifically Oakland County were still among the highest in the state, according to AAA.

MICHIGAN — Gas prices across Michigan dropped another 10 cents from last week, falling below $5 for a regular gallon of gas, according to AAA.

However, Michigan's average of $4.93 for a regular gallon of gas is still among the highest in the nation. The average is also still higher than the nationwide average of $4.80, according to AAA.

Gas prices in the metro Detroit area also continued dropping, making for a Tuesday morning average of $5.04, according to AAA.

Oakland County's average for a regular gallon of gas was $5.10, which is among the highest in the state and roughly ten cents higher than its neighboring communities, according to AAA.

Other areas with the most expensive gas prices in the state include, Ann Arbor ($5.07) and Marquette ($5.03). Some areas across the state with the least expensive gas were Benton Harbor ($4.80), Grand Rapids-Muskegon-Holland ($4.84) and Traverse City ($4.86), according to AAA.
