EMMET COUNTY, MI — Part of a popular northern Michigan road that takes you through one of Michigan's most picturesque areas collapsed due to heavy rain, according to sheriff's officials.

M-119 is closed between Island View and Division in Emmet County after part of the road washed away due to heavy rain and flooding, officials said.

The road is known for its scenic views along Lake Michigan, especially in the fall when it takes you through Michigan's "Tunnel of Trees."

The famous drive is a 20-mile route between Harbor Springs and Cross Village that takes you around Lake Michigan on a curvy two-way road with sharp turns surrounded by trees.
