Newborn Found Dead In Porta-Potty At MI Music Festival: Police

ROTHBURY, MI — A newborn was found dead inside a portable bathroom at the Electric Forest festival in west Michigan over the weekend, according to Michigan State Police.

The body was discovered by an employee of the restroom vending company during routine maintenance Sunday morning, according to police.

Police did not release any other details about the baby.

Police are still investigating the incident and asked festivalgoers who observed anything unusual to contact Michigan State Police at michigan.gov/michtip.

The Electric Forest is Michigan's largest music festival and typically attracts tens of thousands every year annually.

It takes place in Rothbury, which is roughly 22 miles north of Muskegon off U.S. 31, between Whitehall and New Era.
