Nighttime Storms Likely Amid Oppressive Heat: MI Weather
Two rounds of thunderstorms are expected to cross the southeastern Michigan region Monday, according to the National Weather Service.
SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN — A line of severe thunderstorms is likely to cross the southeastern Michigan region Monday night, according to the National Weather Service.
Afternoon highs Monday will climb toward 90 degrees with heat indices reaching the upper 90s close to 100 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
Evening lows will only drop into the 70s before the storms are expected move into southeastern Michigan between 12 a.m. and 6 a.m., according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasters warned those storms will be capable of producing heavy rainfall, large hail and winds up to 60 miles per hour, according to the National Weather Service.
Additional thunderstorms are possible Tuesday morning across southeastern Michigan, according to the National Weather Service.

Areas south of Interstate 96 in the metro Detroit area toward the Ohio border are under a marginal risk (level 1/5) for severe weather Tuesday morning. Those areas can also see localized flooding due to heavy rainfall, according to the National Weather Service.
Afternoon highs will be in the 80s Tuesday before a cold front moves into the southeastern Michigan region and knocks temperatures down into the 70s toward the end of the week, according to the National Weather Service.
