A popular northern Michigan campground was named the best camping spot in the nation, according to Campspot.
MICHIGAN — A popular northern Michigan campground was named the best camping spot in the nation, according to Campspot.
The Indian River RV Resort in Indian River is the No. 1 campground in America for 2023, according to the website, which is an online marketplace for premier RV resorts, family campgrounds, cabins and more.
The campground was chosen for its beautiful natural setting, modern amenities and nearby access to multiple bodies of water, such as Mullet and Burt lakes. The campground is also close to Mackinaw Island and the Mackinac Bridge.

The resort is a family-friendly destination that includes both log cabin lodging and RV parking on site. Some campgrounds also offer an in-ground pool, internet, showers, laundry and basketball and volleyball courts.
"Stay in one of their rustic log cabins or choose from various RV and tent sites," said Campspot. "With close distance to Michigan's famous lakes, you can enjoy watersports, fishing, boating, and incredible picturesque views.
