Oakland County Man Charged In Threats To Gov. Whitmer

The man is accused of sending threatening messages to Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, Attorney General Dana Nessel said.

LANSING, MI — A Clarkston man was charged in connection with threats sent to Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, Attorney General Dana Nessel said Monday.

Kevin Dawe, 31, was charged with with two counts of malicious use of telecommunications services in connection with messages that included vulgar language directed toward the governor, according to a news release from Nessel's office.

Dawe turned himself into the Michigan State Police Metro North Post on Thursday and posted a $500 cash bond.

Court dates will be set in Eaton County 56A District Court.

Upon conviction, Dawe faces a sentence of up to six months in jail or a fine of up to $1,000 or both.
