Officials Searching For 61-Year-Old Fisherman Missing In Lake Michigan
The fisherman's cell phone last pinged about six miles from Holland, officials said.
GRAND HAVEN, MI — U.S. Coast Guard officials are looking for a fisherman who went missing in Lake Michigan on Tuesday evening.
Family members of David Split, 61, notified watch standers at Coast Guard Sector Lake Michigan at 8:10 p.m. Tuesday evening after he failed to return home from a fishing trip, officials said.
Split was last seen leaving Spring Lake in a 29-foot blue Sea Sundancer named A & A, officials said.

Crews from Coast Guard Sector Lake Michigan and authorities from the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office and the Muskegon Police Department are actively searching with aircraft and coast guard vessels, officials said.
