A powerful storm is going to wreak havoc across Michigan on Wednesday. Some parts of the state will see heavy snow while others will see widespread rainfall with highs in the 60s, according to the National Weather Service.
Winter storm warnings are in effect for some areas across the Upper Peninsula where forecasters said up to 10 inches of fresh snow could fall. The snow is expected to begin falling Tuesday night and bleed over into Wednesday with temperatures in the 30s, the weather service said.
Forecasters warned areas in the Keweenaw Peninsula, where the heaviest snow will fall, could face power outages.

Northern lower Michigan will see a wintry mix of heavy snow and freezing rain throughout Wednesday with highs topping out in mid 30s, the weather service said.
Forecasters warned the Gaylord areas could see up to 4 inches of fresh snow and ice accumalations between one tenth and a quarter inch. They said visiblity will be less than a quarter mile and power outages are likely across the region.

In lower Michigan, including southeast Michigan, widespread rainfall will blanket the region with temperatures touching 60 degrees Wednesday, the weather service said.
The rain should move out of the area by the afternoon hours. Highs will stick to the 40s with more rain chances across the region on Thursday night and Friday, the weather service said.
