MICHIGAN — Michiganders approved a proposal Tuesday that will amend term limits in the state Legislature, the Associated Press projects.
The proposal reduces the number of years a state lawmaker can serve to 12 as opposed to 14. But a state lawmaker could serve all 12 of those years in one chamber.
The proposal also requires members of the state Legislature, the governor, the lieutenant governor, the secretary of state and the attorney general to file annual public financial disclosure reports after 2023.
