SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN — High temperatures across southeastern Michigan can break records early this week amid steady rain, according to the National Weather Service.

The rain showers will linger overnight into Tuesday morning, but they should fade away for the majority of Election Day when highs in the region surge into the mid 70s, according to the weather service.

The rain will move back into the area sometime Tuesday evening when polls across Michigan close, according to the weather service.

High temperatures in the region will then gradually fall back down into the 60s and 50s to end the work week, according to the weather service.
