AT&T Adds Faster Speeds to 125 Michigan Cell Sites
Wireless upgrades in Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties are like adding extra lanes on a highway.

AT&T has upgraded its wireless network within eight counties in Michigan. The improvements include adding greater capacity or bandwidth and speeds to 125 cell towers within Oakland, Macomb, Wayne, St. Clair, Genesee, Livingston, Lapeer and Washtenaw counties.
The bandwidth upgrades took place between August and November and will be noticed in myriad cities including 30 sites on multiple locations in Wayne County cities, such as Detroit, Garden City, Canton and Allen Park. Upgrades in St. Clair County include St. Clair and Port Huron.
In Oakland, coverage improved on nearly 40 sites, spanning communities such as White Lake, Southfield, Farmington, Royal Oak and Pontiac.

Last month the telecom announced improvements on 140 sites in Michigan, in May it announced a 60-site upgrade.
These upgrades are like adding more lanes to a highway carrying traffic from a customer’s device to the cell tower, resulting in faster speeds.
“Our Michigan employees are focused on bringing a better mobile experience to southeast Michigan and across the state. Our investment in the local wireless network is one way we’re accomplishing that,” said Jim Murray, president, AT&T Michigan.
