Teen Sentenced For Crash That Killed Livonia Man, Injured 6 Others
Police said the Macomb County teen was speeding on a Lapeer County road in January 2023 when he smashed into multiple cars.
LIVONIA, MI — A Macomb County teen was sentenced to prison last week for a southeastern Michigan crash that left a Livonia man dead and six others injured in early 2023, according to police.
Mark Wayne Goedge III, 19, of Washington Township, was sentenced to 7-20 years in prison after pleading no contest to reckless driving and reckless driving causing serious injury charges. The sentences will be served concurrently, according to police.
Police said Goedge was speeding in a pickup truck in the area of Michigan 53 near Barland Road in Imlay City as an officer tried to stop him on Jan. 29, 2023, when he smashed into multiple vehicles.

The crash killed Michael Neu, 36, of Livonia, and critically injured his wife, according to police.
Five other people, including three from Livonia and two from Imlay City were injured in the crash and taken to nearby hospitals, according to police.

Police did not release their conditions, but said they all "face a long road to recovery," according to police.
Police also said they will increase patrols and install a speed trailer sign to help slow down traffic in the area of Michigan 53 from Newark Road to Second Street. Police said the area is dangerous because of speeding vehicles.
