1. Adrian College Inducts Mitch Stefanski to Athletic Hall of Fame (adrianbulldogs.com) — Adrian College will induct standout baseball alum Mitch Stefanski into its Athletic Hall of Fame during Homecoming events in Adrian this Friday and Saturday. Local fans can see Stefanski honored at the Oct. 2 banquet and again before the Oct. 3 Homecoming football game, celebrating his record-setting hitting and academic achievements.
   

2. Woman charged with murder in death of her sister in hospice waives right to early hearing (mlive.com) — A 58-year-old woman accused of killing her sister in hospice care in Adrian has waived her preliminary hearing, sending the case directly to Lenawee County Circuit Court. Prosecutors allege the victim died after her oxygen mask was removed and morphine was administered, and the defendant remains tethered and restricted to Michigan while awaiting an Oct. 14 circuit court arraignment.
   

3. Adrian historical society shares Carnegie library experience... (argus-press.com) — Adrian's former Carnegie library, now home to the Lenawee County Historical Museum, is being highlighted as a model for reusing historic library buildings. The museum, run by volunteers and funded largely by local donations, preserves nearly a million county artifacts and offers public programs, tours, and memberships that help sustain this landmark right in Adrian's historic core.
   

4. Douglas H. Lerch (wlen.com) — Family and friends in the Adrian area are remembering Douglas H. "Doug" Lerch, who was born in Adrian and later built a life rooted in family, the outdoors, and simple pleasures. A celebration of his life will be held Oct. 4 at the Durkee Seager American Legion in Onsted, where loved ones can gather, share memories, and honor him together.
   

5. Lenawee County man released to house arrest weeks after sentencing in crash that killed four asphalt workers (wtol.com) — A Lenawee County man convicted in a crash that killed four workers from Adrian-based K&B Asphalt Sealcoating has been moved from jail to house arrest while a judge reviews his sentence, citing serious medical and psychiatric issues. He's now on GPS monitoring, barred from driving, and due back for a Zoom resentencing hearing on Oct. 8, where victims' families will be notified and prosecutors can respond.
