• After 35 years of service, the Allegan County Food Pantry is shutting its doors Friday (wmuk.org) — The Allegan County Food Pantry in Allegan is closing this Friday after 35 years, leaving hundreds of local families to seek help elsewhere because too few volunteers and board members remain. Leaders stress the pantry is not broke but no longer sustainable, and they're directing residents to call 211 for other area food options as remaining supplies go to a local foundation.
• Allegan community member calls for action on 'dangerous curve' near her home (wwmt.com) — A resident on Delano and North Cedar in Allegan is pushing city leaders to slow traffic at a sharp curve she says has caused repeated crashes and close calls. Her request for lower speeds and added safety features will be discussed at Monday's Allegan City Council meeting, where neighbors concerned about the dangerous stretch are invited to speak up.
• Kids returning to class, supply donation needs met after Dix Street Elementary fire (wwmt.com) — After a fire at Dix Street Elementary, students will resume classes Wednesday in Allegan Public Schools' Pine Trails facility, fully stocked with donated supplies and furniture. Allegan schools and local partners quickly prepared the temporary "Dix Street West Elementary" space, while officials continue assessing fire damage and promise regular updates on transportation, services, and any future needs for families.
