Berkley High School Play is Laugh-Out-Loud Funny
Students perform 'The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood,' putting a modern twist on the classic tale.
Bieber Fever struck in the most unexpected of places Thursday night: the auditorium during opening night of The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood.
A tongue-in-cheek take on the classic Robin Hood story, The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood provided plenty of opportunities for modern punch lines – including using tween heartthrob Justin Bieber's music as a punishment for Robin – and had the audience laughing out loud.
The cast – including a hilariously sassy Andrea Ozanich as Lady Marian and charismatic Josh Frowine as Robin Hood – pulled off the script with aplomb, turning their scenes into the closest thing to a comedy club this side of Sherwood Forest.

"It seems like it's harder to make people laugh" than to act in a serious play, said senior Kyle Schultz, a veteran of eight previous BHS productions, who plays the Sheriff of Nottingham this time around.
"I think a lot more people should come because we really work hard at it and it's genuinely entertaining," Schultz said, adding that he thinks high school performing arts are often overshadowed by sports.

Dave Collins of Berkley, whose daughter, Robin, played one of the Fawning Ladies, agreed. "We get nice attendance at the plays," the sophomore's dad said. "But it would be nice if we could get more because the kids put on a great show."
As the cast of The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood would say: "It sure would!"
