David Chessman 5K fun Run/Walk Saturday September 21st at 9:00am

G'day friends and neighbors,

We're participating in an event that's very important to us and we hope you'll join us in Huntington Woods Rock City on Saturday, September 21st, for a 5k Fun Run/Walk. We'll be running to honor and support our childhood friend (and fellow Huntington Woods-er and Berkley Bear), David Chessman, who has been kicking cancer over the last few months. Details and RSVP on this Facebook Event Page https://www.facebook.com/events/list#!/events/641610155857135/.

David was diagnosed with Stage 1 Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma back in March. After a surgery to remove a lump in his throat, he's undergone months of chemo and recently finished his 20th sessions of radiation. Unreal. In typical Chessman fashion, he's stayed amazingly positive and hasn't let this change him.

Needless to say, David has taken an extended leave from work to undergo treatment, and because of this, has had to pay for his own insurance. Some friends of his and Carolina (his wife) started a GoFundMe page http://www.gofundme.com/Dave-Chessman  and efforts have been incredible. To alleviate the stresses of paying out of pocket and to ensure David and Carolina have one less thing to worry about, we hope we can keep the funds coming in!

This event, while inspired by our friend, is really for all of us who have been affected by cancer - our loved ones who are in the fight, who have WON the fight, and in memory of those who fought valiantly.

We hope you'll join us at the David Chessman FUN RUN/WALK and that you're able to make a donation of any kind. Even if you are unable to participate, your donation is much appreciated.
