Find out how to help end poverty at Oct. 15 Pathway to Self-Sustainability meeting

The Pathway to Self-Sustainability meeting is tonight: Tuesday, Oct. 15, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at St. James Catholic Church, 241 Pearson St. in Ferndale (west side of Woodward, south of 9 Mile).

The number of people unable to provide a decent standard of living for their families continues to grow, and resources to help them are limited. Now there’s a new approach: The Pathway to Self-Sustainability project finds and develops services tracked to successfully end poverty.

Speakers include: Luz Telleria, director, Hispanic Outreach Services, Catholic Charities of Southeast Michigan, with Jane Fanta; John Ziraldo, CEO, The Lighthouse of Oakland County; and Ryan Hertz, CEO, South Oakland Shelter. A representative will be speaking on behalf of Elizabeth Garlow, executive director, Michigan Corps.
