BBSO to Honor Chairman with Benefit

Join the Birmingham Bloomfield Symphony Orchestra in honoring Chairman of the Board, Richard Tropea, for 20 years of dedication and service with a benefit and concert in April.

On, Sunday, April 17th at 4pm the BBSO is hosting a benefit fundraiser dinner to honor its’ Chairman of the Board, Richard Tropea at Scavolini by Cucina Moda in downtown Birmingham with a culinary celebration "From the Old World." This event will excite the eyes, ears and palette. Starting with gourmet dining from Opus One, Spirits and Desserts from locals Grape Vine Market and Cupcake Station followed by a live concert performance of  "From the New World" by the BBSO and a silent auction at Groves High School Auditorium.

Tropea has served on the board of the BBSO for 20 years, acted as Chairman of the Board for 4 years and served as President for 5 years before that. In addition to working with the BBSO, Rich is very active in the Birmingham-Bloomfield community, having served as co-director of Proud Dads at Birmingham Covington School, founder and coach of the Birmingham Jaguars Softball Club, and President of the Birmingham Seaholm Softball Boosters Club. He also served and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel, Intelligence, from the Army Reserves after 22 years. Rich is currently Vice President of Investments at Raymond James & Associates in Birmingham.
