
In the culmination of style, philanthropy and client appreciation at ’s “Driven by Style” event — held at Tre Monti Ristorante on Aug. 13 — Lynn Derrick of Lathrup Village was announced the winner of the “FIGO at FIAT on Fridays” FIAT 500.
At the event, FIGO Salon also presented mobile food rescue organization Forgotten Harvest with more than $3,000, raised by the salon.
Throughout the summer, FIGO Salon hosted “FIAT at FIGO on Fridays,” donating 10 percent of salon services and salon products purchased each Friday to Forgotten Harvest to help end hunger in Metro Detroit. The salon also has hosted weekly silent auctions, with pieces donated by local merchants, and provided all proceeds to the food rescue organization.

“Our clientsare our inspiration and style our passion, but giving back to our community is our commitment,” said Rino Marra, owner of FIGO Salon. “We are thankful to FIAT and to our customers for supporting us in our effort to give back to a community that has given us so much.”
“Driven By Style” also premiered FIGO Salon’s film “Rebirth,” showcasing the upcoming trends in hair and fashion on a screen 100-feet wide by 10-feet high. The film was created entirely by Metro Detroit-based companies, including direction and cinematography by The Work, video effects by Joseph Pistono of Prospect Black, score by Daniel Johnson of Daniel Musica and sound design by Jeff Dittenber. “Rebirth” is available for viewing at http://bit.ly/FigoSalonRebirth.
