Birmingham "Day on the Town" - Saturday, July 22

Shop for the year's best bargains at this annual event, with fun activities for the whole family!

Birmingham's annual "Day on the Town" takes place on Saturday, July 22, from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Come early to get the best deals as Birmingham merchants host a huge downtown sidewalk sale. There will be special events all day, including a KidZone, wandering entertainers, face painting, crafts, bouncers, magic, live music, and more.

The day began with a children's bicycle parade. There were prizes for the most creative bike, most patriotic bike, most fashionable bike, and wackiest bike. The master of ceremonies was Ingrid Tighe, Director of the Birmingham Shopping District. Everyone cheered as the parade participants rolled proudly down the street, led by an officer of the Birmingham Police Department.

Music is provided by a variety of performers including Madigan's Attic, the John Patrick Peters Band, Sinjon Smith, Trey Connor (local performer selected to audition for The Voice), Mia Green, John Latini, Billy Brandt, the Birmingham Concert Band, and students from Axis Music Academy.
