Summary:

“Neither musical play nor musical revue, “Songs For a New World” is a show of songs by composer/lyricist Jason Robert Brown. Through music styles ranging from light spirituals to funk to rock, we meet unrelated characters as they face unique moments in life when everything seems perfect and suddenly disaster strikes. This collection of song stories is about surviving those moments and regrouping to survive in a new set of circumstances – a new world – even against seemingly overwhelming odds.:
