Detroit Country Day School Students Present Spring Musical Performance of "Legally Blonde"

DCDS performing arts students present musical inspired by the popular film in the school's Seligman Performing Arts Center

Attendees will enjoy many great laughs—and a successfully defended murder trial—by a bubbly sorority girl who is more than she appears with Detroit County Day School’s (DCDS) rendition of “Legally Blonde.” The cast of talented performing arts students will debut on Friday, March 4, and the show will run March 4, 5, 11 and 12 at 7 p.m., with Sunday matinee performances on March 6 and 13 at 3 p.m.
The “Legally Blonde” musical was inspired by the popular movie starring Reese Witherspoon as a sorority girl who enrolls at Harvard Law School to win back her ex-boyfriend, only to discover her knowledge of the law becomes valuable in a murder trial.
“We are excited to have our students put on this colorful production of “Legally Blonde” for friends, family and community members,” said Jeff Nahan, executive director at DCDS for Fine and Performing Arts. “This group of talented students have worked to mark this production with their own personality and style, which will delight fans of the film and newcomers alike.”
“Legally Blonde” will be performed in DCDS’s Seligman Performing Arts Center, a professionally designed auditorium with a large stage accompanied by a full orchestra pit, scene shop and catwalk. The top-of-the-line sound and lighting systems will enhance the production of “Legally Blonde” by providing incredible special effects and increasing acoustic and viewing capabilities.
