A Photo Experiment
I've always been fascinated by fireflies. There's something magical about the sight of them on a summer night, floating and blinking in the darkness. I didn't know if I could capture them in a photograph, but I decided to try.
I went to Crestview Park around 10:30 p.m. on July 7, 2014. I mounted my camera on a tripod and set it for interval shooting. I took 50 separate exposures, each 1 second long, with 2 seconds in between.
I had no idea how they would turn out until I downloaded the pictures onto my computer. Luckily, they looked pretty good! I used Photoshop to blend them together into one single image.
