Ideas for Detoxing Daily

Simple Ways You Can Detox Each Day

A hot buzzword these days is “detox.” But what does that actually mean? Some people use it to suggest simply laying off alcohol or ridding the body of junk food. Others think it means juice fasting or drinking only water for days at a time. We actually use it to mean a daily program of removing toxins from your body by getting your lymph system active (which is the primary system in your body that removes toxins).

So if that’s the case, how do we jump start our lymph system so that we can expedite the release of toxins from our bodies?

1. Jump on a trampoline - yes, it sounds simple or even silly, but jumping on a tramp (also called a “rebounder”) gets our lymph system engaged, moving and working for our benefit. Even a few minutes a day will really improve your overall health.

2. Dry brushing - its detoxifying benefits cannot be over stressed. Think about our ancestors who ran and had nature’s brush, leaves, twigs, etc. scraping their arms and bodies on a daily basis; it undoubtedly caused their lymph systems to engage and release toxins. We no longer have such stimuli and need to recreate it through rituals like dry brushing. This is literally done with a dry bristle brush. But remember to always brush towards your heart, as this is the direction the lymphatic fluid flows.

3. Lemon water - yep, it’s that simple. Squeeze some lemon into your morning glass of water (which we should all be drinking first thing upon rising, as well as before/during/after coffee) and watch your body respond. You can even add cayenne pepper to help open your capillaries, aid in digestion as well as jump start your metabolism! Just make sure that you limit your lemon water to the mornings (or a specific time). If you slowly sip the drink all day, you’ll be exposing your teeth’s enamel to the acidic effects of lemon all day long (not good!).
