Birmingham’s Luigi Bruni Salon Celebrates Stylist Kevin Green Recognition by Oribe

Luigi Bruni, an upscale salon in Birmingham, Mich., was honored to have its stylist Kevin Green selected by Oribe Hair Care co-founder as “The One.”

Oribe chose one stylist to mentor for six months during the Backstage La Fama, “The One,” contest held in Miami June 10. After reviewing the work of nearly 400 stylists, Oribe announced that 23-year-old Kevin Green, a young stylist at Luigi Bruni, was “The One.”

“There were so many talented stylists, so this was such a difficult to decision,” says Oribe. “But Kevin caught my attention with both the look he created and his way. There’s something special about him.”

Oribe Hare Care said the inspiration for the competition was a mythical creature from Chupacabra. While some attendees created gravity defying over-the-top styles, Green went with something simple with an unexpected touch – a small airy pouf at the top of the head, which contrasted the slick pointed shape of his style.

Green has a chair at Luigi Bruni where he styles Michigan-area clients, and is  also tapped to work on local photo shoots and fashion shows. Before he had been assisting Luigi Bruni for two years since he graduated from Douglas J. Aveda Institute in Royal Oak, Mich.

“We are so thrilled for Kevin,” says Luigi Bruni, owner of Luigi Bruni salon. “Our entire team is ecstatic for him and this is an incredible honor for him, our salon and everyone on staff. Our team has been blessed to work with Oribe behind the scenes at several international fashion shows and we are not surprised Kevin’s exceptional talent was noticed by Oribe, himself,” he explained.

Oribe will soon start his mentoring with regular phone calls, in-person meetings, photo shoots and more.

“I’m excited just to be in Oribe’s presence,” says Green. “I wanted to be ‘The One’ so I could turn my passion for hair into greatness – just like Oribe. This is going to be a life-changing experience and I want to learn everything possible and share this special honor with my clients and our entire Luigi Bruni team,” he continues.
