May 11 Job Fair in Southfield

Job seekers can connect with nearly 50 employers at JVS's job fair from 9 am-noon on May 11 at the Southfield Pavilion

JVS is hosting a job fair with nearly 50 employers on May 11 from 9 a.m.-noon at the Southfield Pavilion, 26000 Evergreen Road, Southfield. The event is open to the general public and veterans at no charge. Employers will include Little Caesars, Kelly Services, Talmer Bank, Cintas, Oakland County, Robert Half and more.

Onsite job seeker registration begins at 8 a.m. (pre-registration is not required). In addition to connecting with potential employers at the job fair, job seekers can fine-tune their job search skills and strategies in brief one-on-one sessions with JVS and Michigan Works! career experts.

Numerous organizations such as Legal Aid, Lighthouse, Jewish Family Service and Oakland Literacy Council will also be on-hand to provide information on community resources.

JVS also offers ongoing workshops in Southfield for job seekers. In the week prior to the job fair, workshops will focus on writing cover letters and resumes, interviewing tips, using social media for job search and preparing for a job fair. Most sessions are one to two hours and all are free.

JVS, a career resource for job seekers and employers, sponsors the event in partnership with Oakland County Michigan Works!, the City of Southfield and the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit.
