New Restaurant: Don't Think Burgers with These Sliders

The Sidecar Slider Bar will sandwich oysters, portabella mushrooms, ahi tuna and other delicacies between unique buns.

BIRMINGHAM, MI – A gourmet slider restaurant, Sidecar Slider Bar, is expected to open sometime in January in a vacant storefront in downtown Birmingham.

The Birmingham City Commission approved the request from Mexican Rojo Bistro owner Dan Linen to open the restaurant earlier this month. The new restaurant will be a door away in a space adjacent to Rojo on Merrill Street, The Birmingham Eccentric reports.

Besides sliders, Sidecar will offer appetizers, soups, chili and a selection of American Kobe hot dogs. The sliders, though, are the main attraction. Some examples include sliders built around oysters, and portabella mushrooms and sandwiched between unique buns.

“We’re looking at everything from ahi tuna to traditional beef, to tenderloin and those type of things,” Linen told the City Commission.

The 1,800-square-foot space will seat 75. An outdoor patio will accommodate another 16 customers during warm-weather months.

Linen said Sidecar will cater to an adult audience, while his other restaurant is more family-oriented.
