Old Woodward Upgrade Project to Begin in March

Road construction and streetscape upgrades in $3.5 million plan.

(Originally published Dec. 5, 2016) BIRMINGHAM, MI — Birmingham is getting a facelift. The city is ready to launch a $3.5 million plan to upgrade a key section of Old Woodward in the downtown shopping district, The Birmingham Eccentric reports.

Work between Willits and Brown streets is tentatively scheduled to begin in March and will include streetscaping and improvements to sidewalks an curbs to make them ADA compliant

“This is the road that runs thought the heart of the city and we just want to make sure we spend the time to get it right,” City Manager Joe Valentine said at a meeting Tuesday.
