In the Park Summer Concert Series Returns: 2016 Lineup

The popular series at Shain Park opens June 17 with an end-of-school-year concert.

Birmingham, MI — Popular summer concerts in Shain Park begin Friday, June 17, with the Birmingham Bloomfield Community Coalition Youth Action Board’s Teen Summer Concert — formerly the Battle of the Bands — and then continue weekly on Wednesdays through Aug. 24. 

During the substance-free kick-off event, local high school students celebrate the end of school with a performance in Shain Park.

The treasured In the Park Summer Concert series features a variety of talented performers who will treat guests of all ages to music genres ranging from blues and folk to Motown and country.

All concerts begin at 7 p.m. Seating is on the lawn; attendees are encouraged to bring a blanket, lawn chair and picnic spread.
