Also included are new programs for Michigan high school juniors taking the mandatory SAT and all students taking the optional ACT entrance examination.

“Students and families are confused about the college testing this year,” Brigid Godvin, academic director of The Student Connection, said in a news release. “In the past, the choice of taking the ACT versus taking the SAT was fairly straightforward, roughly based on the geographic location of colleges and universities to which one wanted to apply.

“But this year, the SAT is being administered to all Michigan public school juniors. Most will take the ACT as well. Complicating the matter, there are significant differences between the two tests.”

The Student Connection tutors have taken and analyzed the new SAT and report that it is different than what students have prepared for in the past. Because Godvin and her team want to be a one stop resource for students looking at college, they have created a number of free and fee based programs for Test Prep.
