With a population of 20,606, the city reported:

- Murder and non-negligent homicide: 0
- Rape: 2
- Robbery: 3
- Aggravated assault: 7
- Property crimes: 207
- Burglary: 26
- Larceny-theft: 169
- Motor vehicle theft: 11
- Arson: 1
As a whole, Oakland County reported:
- Violent crime: 934
- Murder and non-negligent homicide: 6
- Rape: 111
- Robbery: 155
- Aggravated assault: 662
- Property crime: 3,723
- Burglary: 926
- Larceny-theft: 2,508
- Motor vehicle theft: 289
- Arson: 55
