Woodward Dream Cruise 2017: What You Need To Know
The world's biggest car event of its kind is coming back to town. Here's what you need to know to enjoy it to the fullest extent.

BIRMINGHAM, MI — Saturday, Aug. 19, Birmingham will fill up with thousands of classic cars and over a million people from all over the world. The Woodward Dream Cruise is coming back to down, supplemented by Birmingham's own Cruise Event.
The Woodward Cruise, an homage to American car manufacturing and the feel of the 50's, will bring 40,000 cars to town. It's the largest single-day auto event in the world.

Where to Be, When to Be There:
The Birmingham Cruise Event starts runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 19 on South Old Woodward from Merrill Street to Lincoln.

The Chevrolet exhibit will be in the "triangle" south of the 555 Building where Old Woodward meets Woodward Avenue. They'll have a variety of displays and activities, running from 9 a.m. to the end of the Woodward Dream Cruise event at 9 p.m.
Event Details:
The Cruise will feature 300 cars of all makes and models, live entertainment and more. See the Corvettes, Thunderbirds, Model A's, Mustangs, Rolls-Royce and more.
Enjoy snacks from this year's vendors, which include: Passmore Popcorn, the Sweetest Gourmet, Harold's Italian Ice, and Motor City Pops and Franks Etc.
Parking:
All Cruise events are in walking distance from the five parking decks in Birmingham, and the first two hours of parking are free. For the rest of the time, use the meters, which are credit card- and Parkmobile-ready.
Registering Your Car:
Register your car for the event on the day of any time after 9:30 a.m. at the registration tent at Brown and Woodward (Jax Kar Wash). Anybody with a car model year 1988 and older can sign up. Day-of parking will be available on a first-come first-served basis, and it's $25.
Chevrolet, WXYZ Channel 7, WOMC 104.3, Lincoln of Troy and Brooklyn Pizza are sponsoring the Birmingham Cruise Event.
