1 Killed in 3-Vehicle Crash in Bloomfield Township
Police said the driver of a pickup failed to stop at a stop light at Pontiac Drive and Orchard Lake Road.


BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, MI – One person was killed and two others sustained minor injuries in a three-vehicle crash at a traffic signal at the intersection of Pontiac Drive and Orchard Lake Road at 4 p.m. Thursday.
Police said in a statement that the driver of a 2010 Dodge Ram pickup traveling south on Pontiac Drive failed to stop at the a red light and struck a westbound 2002 Buick Le Sabre. An eastbound 2013 GMC Acadia was also struck by the pickup, police said.
The Dodge came to a rest in a parking lot, and the driver was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

The occupants of the Buick and Acadia had minor injuries which were treated at the scene. Alcohol and speed do not appear to be factors in the incident.
The cause of the crash is currently under investigation by the Bloomfield Township Traffic Investigations Unit. Members of the Southwest Oakland County Crash Investigations Team (SOCCIT) assisted with the on-scene investigation.
