2012 Football Schedules: Brother Rice and Detroit Country Day

Football practice is officially under way, and it has all the makings of a memorable season for several schools in the Bloomfield area. While both Andover and  high schools will play their final seasons with the pending merger to Bloomfield Hills High School in 2013, area private schools are looking to continue their strong play for a shot at the playoffs and ultimately, Ford Field in November for the state finals.

Largely inconsistent through the regular season, the Warriors (5-4) beat some of the best competition in the state during a dramatic, . It was the school's , who does not appear to be slowing down after winning his 400th game.

Detroit Country Day

The Yellowjackets (7-2) rode a seven-game winning streak into the playoffs last season before falling to Detroit Crockett 13-12 in the first round. The hearbreaking loss was the team's second consecutive postseason defeat to the Rockets, who made it to regionals.
