Andover, Lahser Ladies Win; Boys Teams Face Road Tests
It was finals week for students at Andover and Lahser, but there's no break in the busy season schedule for both the boy's and girl's basketball teams.
Girls
Lady Knights get even
Lahser topped Birmingham Seaholm 56-52 at home Friday to even their league record (4-4 OAA Blue) and climb to 5-9 overall. Suzanne Miller netted 18 points, and Katie Stewart and Shailynn Brown each scored 12 in the victory, miprepzone.com reported.
Next up for the Knights is a road test against Southfield High School at 7 p.m. Thursday. Both the varsity and junior varsity games scheduled for Imlay City on Wednesday were canceled, according to schedulestar.com.

Barons travel well
Led by senior Shannon Wilson's 20 points, the Lady Barons thumped Lake Orion 66-35 on the road Friday and improved to 7-3 OAA White, 10-3 overall. Rachel Rea added 14 and Jamie Lederman scored 10, miprepzone.com reported.

The Barons have won five straight and hit the road again for a tough tilt against Flint Northwestern on Monday at 7 p.m.
Boys
Lahser Loses at Lake Orion
The Lahser Knights dropped a tough league game at Lake Orion Thursday, 74-54, and are now 8-3 overall and 1-2 in the OAA Blue. The Dragons put the game out of reach with a 19-0 second-half run after Lahser center Yante Maten was whistled for his third foul and left the game, according to miprepzone.com.
Maten returned and finished the game with 11 points, eight rebounds and five blocks. Teammate Armand Cartwright scored 13.

Barons strong at home
Andover defeated Hazel Park, 85-75 on Tuesday. The Barons (7-3, 2-1 OAA Gold) used a strong second-half surge to seal the victory and were led by Marlon Pruitt and Marcus McQueen, who each scored 16, miprepzone.com reported.
The victory is the team's second straight after dropping three consecutive games between Dec. 21 and Jan. 15. After three straight home games, the Barons face Birmingham Groves on the road at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
