
The Bloomfield Hills Black Hawks defeated the West Bloomfield Lakers on Friday by a score of 8-2 in a game played at the Detroit Skating Club. The Black Hawks were led by their Junior Captain Johnny Artemenko who scored the Hat Trick, 3 goals in one game. Goalie Trey Atkinson stopped 28 shots for the Black Hawks win. Following the game Bloomfield Hills Head Coach Bruce McAlister said “I was very pleased with our boys’ energy tonight. We took a few bad penalties in the 3rd period which gave West Bloomfield an extended 5 on 3 power play. I guess that goes to show that energy isn’t always accompanied by intelligence.” The scoring began in the 1st period when the Black Hawks got on the board first. Johnny Artemenko scored his first of three at the 5:03 mark of the first period. Next it was the Lakers Connor Schram wth a goal at 12:01 of the first. Sean Wigler got the assist. The next 7 goals were scored by the Black Hawks. It was Joey Cucco with an assist to Sasha Black at 12:30 of the first. Next it was Jordan Stone unassisted at 13:50 of the first. In the second period, it was Banks Burkart from Connor Holman at 1:57. Sasha Black made it 5-1 on a goal from Connor Holman at the 13:27 mark. Scoring opened in the third period with a goal from Sonny Kim and an assist to Bobby Moeller. Finally Johnny Artemenko scored at 7:12 and 10:00 of the third with both assists to Sasha Black to complete the Hat Trick. The Lakers got a late game goal on the power play at 16:59:45 with less than 1 second to go. The goal was scored by Nathan Salzeider with an assist to Sean Wigler. The Black Hawks had a total of 23 shots on goal.
