BHSD Names Interim Communications Director
Shelley Yorke Rose brings experience and familiarity with regional schools to the job.
The Bloomfield Hills School District announced today that the former communications director for the Oakland Schools will join central administration to replace spokeswoman Betsy Erikson Brown on an interim basis.
Shelley Yorke Rose, who recently retired from Oakland Schools after 31 years, will officially join the district Oct. 5 and work three days a week. Brown is leaving the district to become Director of Marketing and Communications for Undergraduate Admissions at the University of Michigan. Her last day is Oct. 3.
During her five-year tenure with the district, Brown handled internal and external communications, coordinated media requests and also headed marketing initiatives. Yorke Rose, of Waterford, will assume most of those responsibilities while Superintendent Rob Glass searches for a permanent replacement.
