Birmingham City Attorney Named 2015 Lawyer of the Year

Birmingham’s City Attorney Tim Currier has been named 2015 “Lawyer of the Year” by Best Lawyers. Only a single lawyer in each practice area and designated metropolitan area is honored as the “Lawyer of the Year,” making this accolade particularly significant, the city said in a news release.

Currier, a shareholder at Beier Howlett in Bloomfield Hills, is recognized as one of the leading experts in School and Municipal law in the State of Michigan.

He received his B.A. from the University of Notre Dame in 1975, and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Detroit in 1978. He is known for his sound, straight-forward and practical advice with a hands-on approach. He has worked with the City of Birmingham since 1992.

“We’re very pleased to see Tim named 2015 ‘Lawyer of the Year’,” said Birmingham City Manager Joseph A. Valentine. “His hard work, experience and knowledge have been invaluable to the City of Birmingham. This designation is well-deserved.”
