Bloomfield Hills Schools Audit Goes Smoothly

The district is up for a financial-reporting award after getting a squeaky-clean financial review.

The Bloomfield Hills Schools Board of Trustees received a reassuring presentation on the annual audit by the Yeo and Yeo accounting firm at Thursday night's meeting. No problems or exceptions were found in any departments, and the district received the highest evaluation mark possible. Problems highlighted last year in food service and district purchasing were addressed and corrected.

Other items that stood out in the district’s audit, by the numbers:

$4.4 million

The total amount of federal dollars received by the district. That includes $1.2 million in American Recovery and Reinvestment Act federal subsidy that will not repeat.
