Bloomfield Directors Issue Blistering Letter Against Devine
The letter accuses Treasurer Dan Devine of running a smear campaign before the Aug. 2 primary.

Bloomfield Township, MI – Bloomfield Township department directors issued a blistering letter Wednesday accusing Treasurer Dan Devine of running a smear campaign before the Aug. 2 primary.
According to hometownlife.com, the letter, signed by all 10 of the township directors, states that Devine is sending out mailings containing “misinformation about the operations of the township.”
The letter urges the public to support Brian Kepes for the treasurer’s position, as well as Supervisor Leo Savoie, Clerk Jan Roncelli and Trustees Neal Barnett and Corrine Khederian.

“You expect to receive facts and truths about your local government operations. Sadly, Treasurer Devine has decided to pursue a political platform of discrediting members of the township board and management team which includes sending mailings containing misinformation about the operations of the township. You should be aware that all of Treasurer Devine’s claims are, in our informed opinion, wrongful and misaligned as to the reality of how township operations and delivery of services are handled.”
Devine suggested the directors were coerced into writing the letter.
“It’s a juvenile last-ditch attempt by Savoie and his rubber-stamp board to save their failing campaigns,” he said.
Savoie said he wasn’t aware of the letter until after it was sent out.
All seven seats are being contested on the township board this election cycle.
