Bloomfield Police: Make Online Transactions in ‘Safe Exchange Zone’
A woman who used LetGo app to sell phone reports theft.

BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, MI — A woman who tried to sell a cell phone using the LetGo app was robbed Monday, prompting Bloomfield Township Police to remind residents that the police station at 4200 Telegraph Road is a “safe exchange zone” where people can make transactions arranged through online classified sites and apps.
The victim told police she had arranged to sell the phone for $100 and met the buyer in the parking lot of the Bloomfield Town Square, located at Telegraph Road and Square Lake, on Oct. 3, according to a news release.
The buyer, who had identified himself as “John L.,” asked to see the phone, put it in his pocket and ran away without paying for it, according to the release. Police officers located the suspect, a 16-year-old, in Pontiac and he admitted to taking the phone, according to police.
