Bloomfield's International Academy Ranked No. 5 Among High Schools by U.S. News

IA is the only Michigan school in U.S. News' top 15, ranked among 22,000 public schools across the country.

Bloomfield's was rated No. 5 among the nation's public high schools in rankings released today by U.S. News.

U.S. news ranked 22,000 schools in 49 states and the District of Columbia. Of the top five schools, IA had the lowest teacher-to-student ratio of 6-to-1. Of IA's students, 100 percent were tested and 100 percent passed.

IA also was one of just three schools in the top 15 to have international baccalaureate programs.

"The IA is clearly a wonderful educational opportunity for our students.  As it has been ranked one of the top high schools in the country for years in a row, we are very proud of this part of our district," said Shira Good, communications director for the Bloomfield Hills School District.  We are pleased to be able to offer such a wide variety of options to our high school students and this is a fine example."

and high schools were not nationally ranked. Among Michigan's top ranked schools, Grosse Pointe South ranked third in the state and Troy High School ranked sixth.
