Bloomfield Township Woman Fired Pistol to Scare Off Boyfriend: Police
Gun-wielding woman told police she shot the ground to get her boyfriend to leave after an argument.
BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, MI — The sound of shots fired on the 1000 block of Winthrop Road about 9:20 p.m. Wednesday night turned out to be more of a nuisance than an emergency.
However, Mysti Clanagan, 42, does face charges of reckless discharge of a firearm after she shot her pistol, Bloomfield Township police said in a news release.
The Bloomfield Township woman told police she had an argument with her boyfriend and shot her weapon into the ground to get him to leave after he refused to do so, police said.

When police arrived, Clanagan was leaving the scene, according to the release. Her boyfriend had already left. Police said he cooperated with investigators and confirmed Clanagan’s account of what had happened.
During her arraignment in 48th District Court, Magistrate Howard Linden set a $500 personal bond.
